The Australian National University’s environmental sustainability governance structure provides strategic oversight and operational leadership to advance sustainability across the University. The governance structure is made up of three key groups:

  • The Environmental Sustainability Committee, chaired by the Chief Campus Environment Officer (CCEO). The Committee provides strategic direction and oversight and includes executive leadership representation. The Committee meetings four times per year.
  • The Environmental Management Review Group is responsible for implementing and managing sustainability initiatives, this group reports to the Environmental Sustainability Committee and meets and reports to the CCEO quarterly.
  • The Environmental Sustainability Team which works across the University to embed sustainability in campus operations, policies and programs. This group meets fortnightly.
