Get Active with ANU Green this September!
Turn your daily commute, campus walks and runs into rewards this September with Get Active ANU. Every walk, ride or run can make you eligible for weekly prizes.
With spring bringing warmer days and more reasons to get outdoors, there is no better time to refresh your routine and rethink how you move to, from and around campus.
Get Active month encourages our community to step into the new season and choose active ways of travel. We are celebrating every active movement, whether walking to campus, riding a bike or heading out for a walk or run during the day. Move more, enjoy our blooming campus and discover how everyday travel choices support a more sustainable ANU.
Why get involved?
Choosing active travel where possible can help reduce transport emissions and congestion, while giving you the chance to move more, spend time outdoors and arrive at campus feeling refreshed and energised.
Best of all, any distance counts, a short walk earns the same entry as a long ride.
Participate in one of two ways:
- Join our Strava Club and log your activities
- Download the strava app and join the ANU Green Club
- Log your ride, walk run or other active activity during September
- Protect your privacy: Before logging any activities, we recommend setting up a privacy zone around your home or residential address using Strava’s map visibility settings
- Share your activity on Instagram
- Post a photo or story of your active commute or activity on campus and tag us (@green_ANU)
Every instance of activity logged on Strava or new Instagram post or story is counted as one entry in the weekly prize draw. The more activities you log or share throughout September, the more chances you have to win ANU Green merchandise or bike equipment.
Get Active month is open to all ANU staff and students. Prize winners will be announced weekly through On Campus, our ANU Green Instagram account and ANU Green Strava Club. Winners will also be contacted directly through the channel used to submit the winning entry.
ANU is working to reduce our environmental impact across all our emission sources including energy, travel, waste and more. Looking for other ways to help support this mission? Join the ANU Green Network. The Network is an online resource for ANU staff and students to access and share sustainability activities and advice at the University.
